These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the Essex Scrap website and our vehicle collection and purchase services. By using our services, you agree to be bound by these terms.

2. Our Services

Essex Scrap provides vehicle collection and purchase services across Essex and surrounding areas. We buy vehicles in any condition, including:

Scrap vehicles
Non-runners
MOT failures
Accident damaged vehicles
Unwanted vehicles
Commercial vehicles and vans

3. Quotations

All quotations provided are based on the information you supply about your vehicle. The final price may be adjusted if the vehicle's condition differs from the description provided. Quotations are valid for 7 days unless otherwise stated.

4. Vehicle Ownership

By selling your vehicle to us, you confirm that:

You are the legal owner of the vehicle or are authorised to sell it
The vehicle is free from any outstanding finance agreements
There are no legal claims against the vehicle
All information provided about the vehicle is accurate

5. Documentation

To complete the sale, you must provide:

Valid photo identification (driving licence or passport)
Proof of address (utility bill or bank statement)
V5C registration document (if available)
All vehicle keys

If you do not have the V5C, you will need to sign a declaration confirming ownership.

6. Collection

We offer free collection across Essex and surrounding areas. Collection times are subject to availability. We will make reasonable efforts to collect at a time convenient for you.

7. Payment

Payment is made at the time of collection, subject to the vehicle matching the description provided. We pay by bank transfer or cash (for smaller amounts). Payment will be processed within 24 hours for bank transfers.

8. DVLA Notification

Upon collection, we will provide you with documentation for DVLA notification purposes. It is your responsibility to send the yellow section of the V5C to the DVLA, though we can assist with this process.

9. Environmental Responsibility

Essex Scrap is committed to environmentally responsible vehicle disposal. All vehicles are processed at Authorised Treatment Facilities (ATFs) in accordance with End of Life Vehicle (ELV) regulations.

10. Limitation of Liability

Essex Scrap shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of our services. Our total liability shall not exceed the purchase price paid for your vehicle.

11. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
