Can I sell factory machinery that no longer works?
Yes. We accept non-working factory machinery as well as operational equipment that is surplus to requirements. Tell us about electrical faults, failed motors, control problems, wear, missing parts or damage when you enquire.
You do not need to restart a machine to ask for a quote. Photos, an identification plate and an honest description of its last known condition help us assess it. Explain whether the machine is still installed, disconnected or already prepared for collection.
Replacing machines, relocating or clearing a workshop?
We welcome enquiries from owners selling a single machine or several unwanted items following an upgrade, relocation, workshop closure or change in production. A machine does not have to be running to be included in your enquiry.
For multiple machines, make a list showing the make, model, condition and location of each item. Tell us which equipment is included in the sale and which needs to remain. Any wider clearance work or additional removal needs should be discussed separately when the collection is assessed.
What information helps value a factory machine?
Start with the manufacturer, model, approximate age and what the machine was used for. Include any recorded operating hours, service records, manuals, tooling, controls and accessories that come with it.
Photograph the whole machine, the identification plate, controls and any damage or missing parts. Let us know the approximate weight and dimensions if available. The machine's condition, completeness and removal requirements all help inform the offer; an individual assessment is more useful than assuming it only has metal value.
How is heavy factory machinery collected?
We arrange specialist transport for agreed purchases. Before booking, we need to understand the route from the machine to the loading area, including door widths, height restrictions, steps, floor level and vehicle access.
Tell us if a machine is bolted down, connected to electrical or other services, located upstairs or needs lifting or dismantling. Disconnection and removal responsibilities must be agreed before collection. Leave those tasks to suitably qualified people and discuss the requirements with us at the enquiry stage.
How selling and collection work
- Send details and photos. Include the make, model, condition, location, approximate weight and any recorded operating hours.
- Discuss the offer. We assess the machinery and confirm the purchase terms and collection arrangements with you.
- Plan specialist transport. We arrange collection around the machine, its loading requirements and access to the site.
Collection timing, transport requirements and any costs are agreed before booking. Tell us about lifting, dismantling or disconnection needs at the enquiry stage so these can be assessed.
